Leadership

ΣΑΕΠ is more than a social organization, it is an opportunity to become a leader in a unique female space. Most sisters will have at least one chair position and one executive board position during their time in Sigma. Skills developed in these positions include time management, event planning, public speaking, public relations, financial management, team building, networking, and many more. Many of our sisters use these skills to pursue leadership positions in Student Government, the office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, and other spaces on campus.

Sisterhood

Sigma sisters never forget why we are really here: to form an intimate group of friends who will always be there for each other. Our Sisterhood chair plans brunches, movie nights, adventures in LA and more for sisters to bond and make memories together. Our yearly weekend retreats allow us to unplug, relax and connect with each other in a beautiful space, like this year's retreat in Malibu.

Jewish Life

When we aren't celebrating Shabbat and other holidays at the many Jewish centers on campus, we also host our own Jewish learning events and holiday celebrations such as Rosh Chodesh, Sisterhood Seders, and making latkes together for Chanukah. Many sisters will take Jewish Learning Fellowships, Jewish Studies classes, or even travel to Israel together!

Philanthropy and Community Service

Sigma practices Tikkun Olam, repairing the world, through giving back to many causes. Recent community service partners have included Operation Gratitude, Dress for Success, and UCLA Dance Marathon. We participate in other chapters' philanthropies and every year our chapter fundraises for our national philanthropy, American Jewish World Services.

Social

We love hosting events with other UCLA sororities and fraternities, like barbeques, game nights, or going to a football game together. Once a quarter, Sigma hosts a Date Party or Formal where we celebrate our sisterhood with dancing and dinner (and sometimes karaoke battles).

Scholarship

Through sisterhood study nights and our Smarty Panties program, our Scholarship Chair helps sisters navigate through academic life at UCLA. Our chapter is proud to have excelled academically, frequently winning the highest GPA in our Greek Council and surpassing the All Women's Average. Many sisters will graduate with honors, become members of Phi Beta Kappa, and pursue graduate degrees.
