National HistorySigma Alpha Epsilon Pi, also known as Sigma or SigmaAEPi, is the fastest growing Jewish sorority in North America. Founded on October 1st, 1998 at the University of California-Davis, ΣΑΕΠ empowers women to become leaders, scholars and sisters in a Jewish environment. While based in Jewish values, ΣΑΕΠ is an all-inclusive sorority and does not discriminate based off race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. Membership in Sigma allows women to enjoy all of the benefits of a Greek experience without sacrificing their Jewish identities, a principle reflected in our unofficial motto, "Jewish First, Greek Second". Sigma Alpha Epsilon Pi Sisters learn leadership skills, bond with each other as well as other Greek and Jewish students, and truly find a home away from home at their universities. |
Chapter HistoryThe Eta Chapter at UCLA was founded on February 3rd, 2008 and Re-Founded on December 2nd, 2017. As the only Jewish women's organization on campus, we provide a space for women of all denominations and identities to develop their own unique relationship to Judaism. We are proud to maintain one of the highest GPAs among all Sigma Chapters nationwide. With our re-founding, we are excited to welcome the new generation of Sigma women who will help shape this organization into the best social Jewish experience at UCLA. The Eta Chapter is a part of the Multi-Interest Greek Council, one of the six Greek councils at UCLA. For more information about Greek Life at UCLA, please click here. |
